HOMETOWN ADVANTAGE DURING FREE AGENCY
Each team is given the opportunity to preserve its roster by utilizing a clause known as the “Home Town Advantage”. It is a way to allow teams that have “gone to war” with their players to have a chance to retain their services by providing them a small re-signing advantage.
high
The player in question still goes through the normal Free Agency process. All of the other teams in the league will have an opportunity to secure his services via the Free Agent Auction. If the team that owned the player before free agency wins with the high bid then you will recieve a discount.
If you resign a player that was on your roster last year then you will receive a 10 percent discount off the winning salary. It is the responsibility of the owner to make the commissioner aware that the player was on your roster the season prior. Once confirmed the discount will be applied. This will be done after you offer the appropriate contract.
If you sign a player that is on the roster of the organization that you represent then I will apply a 20 percent disount to the winning bid. This will be done after you offer the appropriate contract.
